We've been here before, shortly after we moved here, but I can't find the date. Have been trying to get back, and finally made it for Valentine's Day. We didn't have the Valentine's Day Menu; it was too expensive (€95pp) and too big. Instead we had the daily menu (only €52) with a choice of several starters, mains, and desserts, plus aperitif, cheese, wine, and coffee or tea. Ed started with a brandade of morue with a bit of smoked salmon; I had a poached egg sitting on a mixture of tortoise meat and veg, swimming in watercress sauce. For a main, Ed had pigs' cheeks lacquered with honey and pineau, three big chunks of meat. I had saddle of rabbit stuffed with chestnuts and something else I've forgetten. All tasty and presented beautifully. Then a long wait till the cheese trolley came around. Very nice things there. For dessert, Ed had different ice creams in profiteroles, and I had a sort of mousse of hazlenuts with crème Anglaise and little balls of pear. Coffee and tisane were accompanied by some very alcoholic cherries and mini brownie muffins. All good, but a bit much to eat.
